Business Improvement Grant

The Business Improvement Grant incentive is used to promote new or expanded business development. The purpose of this grant is to assist with lessening the overall cost burden associated with opening or expanding a business. This is the EDC’s way of showing our appreciation to businesses who are investing in our community. The business’s capital investment and other important information is plugged into a program and an impact analysis is formulated giving the EDC an estimated rate of return on the project.

The Business Improvement Grant must be approved by the EDC Board of Directors. All amounts over $10,000 must then go before the City Council for final approval. This incentive can be given as a reimbursement, or after a targeted line item on the performance agreement has been achieved the amount will be given on a cash basis.
